Western Sydney pride is at stake this week as Canterbury Bulldogs and Penrith Panthers go head to head at ANZ Stadium. With a spot in the top eight on offer to the winner the Panthers will be looking to avenge their Preliminary Final loss to the Bulldogs at the same venue last September.
The Bulldogs have taken the somewhat unusual step of not naming any of their five players who played for NSW in Wednesday’s State of Origin game in Melbourne. In what will be his 300th first grade game as a coach Des Hasler will leave it as late as possible before deciding if any of the quintet have recovered enough energy to take to field on Saturday night.
The Panthers’ injury crisis seems to sink to new depths every week, although this week they do welcome back playmaker Jamie Soward. His return will be crucial to the Panthers’ hopes of improving their record of two wins from nine games against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium.
Make it a big Saturday night out at the football with mates by taking advantage of a 5 for $50.oo pre-purchase ticket offer. All pre-purchased tickets include free return rail travel to Olympic Park. With many other events taking place in the Olympic Park precinct those driving to the game are strongly advised to pre-book parking as car parks are expected to be full .
