Sydney FC are heading back to Wollongong for the South Coast Football Challenge. The event will see both the Sky Blues’ A-League and W-League sides in action as they prepare for their respective league campaigns.
The W-League side get the ball rolling at 5.15pm when they face Illawarra Stingrays, before the A-League side face Wellington Phoenix at 7.45pm. Phoenix will provide a stern test for Sydney, having made a strong impression in the 2014/15 A-League season on their way to the finals.
Sydney FC fans will also have their first opportunity to see new marquee signing Filip Holosko. The Sky Blues are looking to go one step further following their loss in last season’s Grand Final, and the likes of Holosko, Milos Ninkovic and Andrew Hoole have been brought in as coach Graham Arnold prepares his squad for a campaign that will also take in the Asian Champions League.
