Rockdale City Suns v Melbourne Victory

Rockdale City Suns have been handed a dream FFA Cup tie against A-League Champions Melbourne Victory. A strong crowd is expected at Kogarah, the majority hoping to witness what could be the biggest upset in the short history of the cup.

Victory have brushed aside any state league opposition thrown their way in the first two years of the FFA Cup. In three games against state league sides they have scored 14 goals and conceded none.

The A-League champions have made four changes to the squad that cruised to a 6-0 win over Balmain Tigers in the last round. Archie Thompson, Rashid Mahazi, Matthieu Delpierre and Carl Valeri come into the side, with a number of the younger players who played against the tigers away on Olyroos duty.

St George Illawarra Dragons v Cronulla Sharks

Local Pride is on the line this weekend as St George Illawarra Dragons host Cronulla Sharks. Both sides have named unchanged line-ups for this round 12 clash at Kogarah Oval.

In the build up to kick off fans can also enjoy a touch football match between legends, celebrities and competitions winners.

Australia v Vietnam

The Matildas will play a warm-up game against Vietnam at Kogarah Oval ahead of the Women’s World Cup in Canada. Australia have already demonstrated their superiority over their opponents with a 4-0 win in a behind closed doors match earlier in the week. Another convincing display will provide an ideal boost in confidence as the Matildas prepare to depart this weekend for their pre-tournament training camp.

Australia will be led by co-captains Clare Polkinghorne and Lisa De Vanna as they look to maintain their 100% winning record against Vietnam. Coach Allen Stajic has turned to the experienced pair to also lead the Matildas at the World Cup.

This match is a great opportunity for football fans in Sydney to show their support for Australia as they prepare to take on the world’s best next month. Tickets are just $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for kids, and $30 for a family of four.
