Two Sydney teams go head to head in the NRL Semi-Finals this weekend as Minor Premiers Sydney Roosters host 2014 Grand Finalists Canterbury Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium. The winning side will progress to a Preliminary Final in Brisbane against the Broncos, while the losers will be left dreaming of what might have been.
A loss to Melbourne Storm last Friday saw the Roosters defeated for the first time in thirteen games, and relinquishing the advantage of a week off ahead of the Preliminary Finals. The Bulldogs snatched a Gold Point overtime win against the Dragons to survive the first round of Elimination Finals, but will surely have to put in a much improved display to knock off the team that has now won three back to back Minor Premierships.

A loss to Melbourne Storm last Friday saw the Roosters defeated for the first time in thirteen games, and relinquish the advantage of a week off ahead of the Preliminary Finals. It has left them facing this tricky elimination showdown against a Bulldogs outfit hurting from losses in two Grand Finals in the past three seasons. Despite being named to play earlier in the week Mitchell Pearce has now been ruled out of the Roosters side, so Jackson Hastings will continue to deputise.
The Bulldogs snatched a Gold Point overtime win against the Dragons to survive the first round of Elimination Finals, but will surely have to put in a much improved display to knock off the team that has now won three back to back Minor Premierships. Frank Pritchard was found not guilty at the judiciary this week of a dangerous contact charge, and the key forward is free to play in what will be an unchanged Bulldogs lineup.
The Roosters won both of the regular season matches in 2015, and overall have won five of the last six encounters between the two sides. They go into the game as favourites, although this will not concern a Bulldogs outfit who like nothing better than fighting their way out of a corner. It is also worth noting that sides coached by Bulldogs mentor Des Hasler have a 100% success rate of reaching Grand Finals when having won in the first week of a finals series.

After securing an incredible third straight NRL Minor Premiership success Sydney Roosters host Melbourne Storm at Allianz Stadium in the first Qulaifying Final. The winner goes straight through to a home match in the Preliminary Finals, while the loser will go into a sudden-death Elimination Final in week two.
Surprisingly given the success of both sides in the modern era, this will be the first time that the Roosters and Storm have met in a finals series.
The Roosters have coped admirably well without key players such as Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Mitchell Pearce and Shaun Kenny-Dowall – although the latter made is return to action in the final round. However the finals present a different level of intensity, and the Roosters will need to be at their best to fend of the Storm and extend their winning streak to an amazing thirteen games.
Pre-purchase tickets to save up to 35% on matchday admission prices, with an adult General Admission ticket costing just $20.00 online. Fans are also encouraged to arrive early at Moore Park and take advantage of a $5 Pie & Soft Drink offer. The deal is available at the Sydney Plaza outside the southern gates of Allianz Stadium, and is not available at outlets inside the stadium itself.

A win for Sydney Roosters over their historic rivals South Sydney Rabbitohs in the final round will make it 12 in a row, a run that has seen them pull ahead as clear favourites to claim a second Premiership in three seasons. Following Brisbane’s loss to Melbourne on Thursday the Roosters simply need to avoid defeat by 67 points or more to secure a third straight NRL Minor Premiership, and they will be presented with the J.J. Giltinan Shield at the end of the game.
Both sides have injuries to key men, and while the Roosters have almost brushed aside the absences of the likes of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Mitchell Pearce, the Rabbitohs have lost their way ever since Greg Inglis limped from the field against the Bulldogs. Souths will also have to contend without John Sutton and the suspended Isaac Luke.
Melbourne’s win over the Broncos also ended any hope that the Rabbitohs had of sneaking back into the top four. Defeat in the final round will also condemn them to an away match in an elimination final, with a trip to Melbourne to face the Storm a real possibility.

Manly Sea Eagles host Sydney Roosters at Brookvale Oval knowing that only a win will do to keep their slim NRL finals hopes alive. The Sea Eagles must win their final two games, and hope that other results go their way, if they are to sneak into the top eight.
With ten wins in a row the Roosters have a third consecutive Minor Premiership in their sights. If they are to achieve this remarkable feat they will have to do so without forward Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and halfback Mitchell Pearce, who were both injured during last week’s win over the Broncos. Michael Jennings will also miss this game as he serves a one match suspension.

A win for Sydney Roosters over Brisbane Broncos at Allianz Stadium will secure a place in the top four heading into the NRL Finals Series. The Roosters will also stay on track for a third successive Minor Premiership.
The Broncos are already assured of a top four spot, however they are in danger of losing home ground advantage for the opening week.

Sydney Roosters host Parramatta Eels at Allianz Stadium with both teams focused on their push for spots in the NRL’s top four and top eight respectively. The Roosters go into Round 23 only two points off the top of the ladder – with the best for and against tally in the competition – while the Eels maintained their faint hopes of making the finals by beating the Panthers last weekend.
The Roosters are looking to register their ninth consecutive victory, and capitalise on recent setbacks for the Broncos and Cowboys. Should they continue their winning run on Saturday the Roosters will be well placed to claim a third straight NRL Minor Premiership.
Sitting four points outside the top eight Saturday night is win or bust for the Eels. Their for and against record is far worse than those around them, so one more loss will surely end their season.
A Broken foot sustained against the Panthers in Darwin has ruled Brad Takairangi out for the rest of the season. He becomes the seventh Eels player to have their season ended prematurely in what has been a difficult year for the club on and off the field. Hooker Isaac De Gois will make his 2ooth NRL appearance.
Pre-purchase tickets before midnight Friday 14th August to get free general admission entry for juniors with a paying adult.

Two NRL Premiership contenders face off on Friday night when Sydney Roosters face Canterbury Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium. The Roosters have found form to settle in to a spot in the top four, while the Bulldogs will look to get their push back on track following a loss to the Sharks last weekend.
This match sees a significant milestone for Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce, who will become the youngest ever player to reach 200 first grade games. At just 26 years of age Pearce looks well set to go on and join the prestigious 300 club.
