Sydney Kings will be looking to generate momentum for their NBL playoffs push when they face Townsville Crocodiles at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Friday night. With three wins and three losses so far this season the Kings will be looking to get a home win under their belt before embarking on a series of road trips.
After making an unexpectedly early return from serious injury, the form of captain Ben Magden is key to the Kings’ chances of victory at the Kingdome. His 31 point haul last week against Cairns was the difference between the teams. AJ Ogilvy is also in great form, and is currently the only player in the NBL averaging double figures per game for both points and rebounds.
The Kings will need their sharp shooters to make the most of the chances they get, as the Crocs will look to capitalise on any mistakes. They are especially good in transition and force more turnovers than any team in the league. Another close encounter is on the cards after the Kings won the previous encounter between the two sides in round four by two points
The Kings have this week announced the signing of former Indiana Pacers forward Sam Young until the end of the season. Young will not be available for this game, but his signing is sure to give a lift to the club and their fans. As a result of the capture of Young, it seems as though the game against Townsville on Friday will be the last in Kings colours for Jesse Sanders.
