The focus returns to the NRL this weekend following an epic State of Origin win in midweek for New South Wales. Manly Sea Eagles and Wests Tigers meet at Brookvale Oval on Friday night with both teams outside of the top eight and desperately needing the win.
Manly are coming off their second bye of the season and will look to make the most of recharged batteries. Daly Cherry-Evans is expected to play and will be looking to shake off criticism of his performance in Melbourne, as well as his recent controversial contract backflip.
The Sea Eagles do have an impressive record against the Tigers at Brookvale Oval, winning six of the last seven games played at the venue. However, they will be without injured skipper Jamie Lyon, with Peter Hiku moving into the centre’s to cover.
The Tigers have been lifted by their stunning win last weekend over South Sydney. Led by a fearless display from Martin Taupau the Tigers tore apart the Rabbitohs’ defence, and only let in one try in the process.
Their NSW State of Origin representatives Robbie Farrah and Aarron Woods are not certain to back up for this game, although the performance against Souths showed that they have the ability to cope without their stars. Tigers forward Keith Galloway is set to play his 200th NRL match.
Friday 19th June, Brookvale Oval 19:45
