With the Rugby World Cup just weeks away the Wallabies will look to strike a blow against the All Blacks in their opening Bledisloe Cup encounter at ANZ Stadium. Both sides have registered two wins from two games in the SANZAR Rugby Championship, so the game will also decide the outcome of this years’s shortened version of the tournament.
Matt Giteau returns to the Wallabies squad after suffering an injury earlier in the campaign, and Michael Hooper and David Pocock have been restored to the starting side. Wycliff Palu also returns after being rested at the conclusion of the Super Rugby season, while Toby Smith could potentially make his international debut.
As part of the build-up to the match there are a number of events taking place across Sydney. Ticket holders for the game can also get free entry to the Bledisloe Cup Festival Race Day at Royal Randwick earlier in the day.
Pre-purchased tickets include return travel via public transport to Olympic Park. Tickets are also valid on Sydney Olympic Park Special Event Buses running on the usual routes. Direct trains are also in operation between Central and Olympic Park, as well as the sprint line from Lidcombe. Fans are strongly advised to make use of public transport, with the Netball World Cup and a major food fair also taking place in the precinct on the day.
