Canterbury Bulldogs and St George Illawarra Dragons face off in an Elimination Final on Saturday at ANZ Stadium. The Bulldogs have a strong record against the Dragons in recent seasons, winning six of the past seven encounters, however the Red V will be aiming to record the second upset of this weekend’s finals matches.
After two Grand final losses in the past three years the Bulldogs are hoping to go one better in 2015. They showed last year that finishing outside the top four is no barrier to making it to the decider, and once again seem to be peaking at just the right time with five consecutive wins going into the finals.
The Dragons are making their first appearance in the finals since 2011. A poor run in the second half of the campaign has cost them a place higher up the ladder, having led the competition prior to the State of Origin series.
They will again be without first choice five eighth Gareth Widdop through injury, with Drew Hutchison named to deputise. If the game is as tight as anticipated then the Dragons will need stand-in goal kicker Josh Dugan to have a better night than he had against the Tigers last weekend.
Pre-purchase to save up to 35% on admission prices, with all pre-purchased tickets also including free return rail travel to Olympic Park. Fans can also take advantage of a $5 Pie & Soft Drink offer available at all outlets inside ANZ Stadium.
